About The Position

We are searching for a Vermont licensed dental assistants to provide full time coverage for the VA Office in White River Junction, Vermont. This is an ongoing contract requiring candidates who have at least one full year of experience as a dental assistant. Further details below! Dental Assistant White River Junction VA Medical Center Rate: $25/hour Coverage: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 7am-5:30pm

Requirements

  • Active Vermont Dental Assistant License
  • Clean Malpractice History and Criminal Record
  • At least 1 year of creditable experience practicing as a full time dental assistant (VA dental clinic experience preferred)
  • Required within one month of onboarding - Successful completion of the Dental Radiation Health and Safety Examination administered by the Dental Assisting National Board, Inc.; OR (b) Successful completion of the Principles and Practice of Dental Radiology and Radiographic Safety courses and examinations developed by the Assistant Under Secretary for Health for Dentistry. OR, (c) Successful completion of a radiation health and safety program or examination approved by a state board of dentistry or the Department of Defense DoD).
  • Current Unrestricted Driver's License and ability to drive a mobile dental clinic (commercial driver's license not required)
  • Willingness to complete all required training before operating any government vehicles and adhere to all responsibilities for operating government vehicles

Responsibilities

  • Chairside dental assistant duties for all phases of dentistry
  • Assisting dentist and dental hygienists by preparing patients and instruments, measure and record vitals, operate dental x-ray equipment
  • Receive and Route patients, record information, provide patients with educational material as well as written and verbal instructions
  • Act as a point of contact between dental providers, the Office of Dentistry, and other stakeholders to resolve operational challenges
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders
  • Assist in Developing and implementing strategies to address feedback and improve stakeholder satisfaction
  • Assist in identifying inefficiencies with the pilot program
  • Document and communicate changes to processes
  • Assist in developing and implementing quality control measures to ensure consistent and high-quality dental treatment
