About The Position

Your role: As a Certified Dental Assistant, you should be reliable and be able to build trust with patients of all ages. You should have a knowledge of relevant health and safety rules. The duties of a dental assistant are among the most comprehensive and varied in the dental office. Requirements

Valid RDA license(preferred)
Valid X-ray license(preferred)
1 year experience (preferred)
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)
Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
Outstanding communication skills
A patient and friendly demeanor
Attention to detail

Nice To Haves

Bilingual in Spanish
Experience with Electronic Health Records

Responsibilities

Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
Sterilize dental instruments properly
Provide chair-side assistance to the dentist
Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures
Take X-rays
Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
Monitor supplies
Ability and experience in working with culturally and linguistically diverse and underserved populations, work with migrant and seasonal farm workers as well as Spanish Speaking is a plus
Interest in team-based care and demonstrating leadership and initiative in clinical quality improvement practices
High degree of interpersonal competence with both staff and patients as we are a small team and community
