About The Position

We are expanding our team to serve the needs of our community in the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri area! Central Ozarks Medical Center (COMC) is excited to announce a Dental Assistant position for our Camdenton clinic. COMC is a Missouri non-profit, federally qualified health center that has served Pulaski, Laclede, Camden and Miller counties for over 40 years. Our goal is to provide the highest quality, affordable healthcare to the communities we serve. COMC is looking for a mission-driven team member who is comfortable working with patients with diverse backgrounds. Applicant must be a motivated, self-starter able to quickly adapt to new and changing conditions while maintaining a professional demeanor. Requirements

  • Experience in dental assisting preferred.
  • Expanded Functions preferred.
  • Must be CPR certified or become certified during probationary period and maintain certification throughout employment with COMC.
  • Must have GED or be a graduate from high school; must have dental assisting experience and be a graduate of a dental assisting educational program.
  • Expanded Functions preferred.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
  • Ability to effectively present information to the Dental Director.
  • Knowledge of fundamental math, adding machine, calculator, and Microsoft office.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This includes moderate physical effort consisting of occasionally lifting or moving over 50 pounds of weight.
  • To fulfill the responsibility of the position travel to all COMC locations may be required. Employee must have valid Missouri driver’s license and availability of a motor vehicle. Overnight travel may also be required in specific incidences of training, conferences, etc.
  • Knowledge of, and compliance with, HIPAA and 340B regulations is required.
  • Confidentiality of patient information is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Dentist with dental procedures.
  • Responsible for the care and maintenance of dental instruments and equipment.
  • Assist the dentist with all dental procedures, as directed.
  • Take dental x-rays; develop and prepare the x-rays for evaluation by the dentist.
  • Clean, sterilize, and lubricate instruments.
  • Provide dental education for patients and families as required.
  • Perform general lab procedures as required.
  • Responsible for assisting with inventory and ordering of dental supplies.
  • Maintain operatories, waiting room and laboratory in proper order.
  • Assist the dental receptionist with scheduling and chart maintenance and other clerical duties as required.
  • Perform other appropriate duties as required.
