Responsibilities

  • Provides chairside dental assistance in a pediatric resident clinic.
  • Prepares and sterilizes dental equipment and instruments.
  • Documents patient care and takes dental radiographs (x-rays).
  • Assists the dentist during treatment procedures, including placement of bases and liners, and temporary restorations.
  • Prepares setup trays for various dental procedures.
  • Performs patient charting as instructed by the dentist.
  • Follows infection control protocols and prepares instruments for treatment.
  • Greets patients and prepares them for treatment.
  • Provides post-treatment oral care instructions to patients.
  • Takes impressions of patients' teeth for study casts.
  • May perform office management tasks such as scheduling appointments and data entry.
