As a Pediatric Dental Assistant – General Anesthesia, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive dental care to young patients undergoing procedures with general anesthesia while maintaining a positive and nurturing environment. This position requires the flexibility to travel to one or more locations as needed, ensuring consistent support across all practices.

Requirements

  • CDA or EFDA certification
  • Coronal Polishing & Nitrous Oxide certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Hospital credentials required
  • Experience assisting with general anesthesia procedures (preferred)
  • 2 years of dental assisting experience
  • Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, HIPAA regulations, and infection control
  • Experience with pediatric patients (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Curve dental software (preferred)
  • Willingness to commute to Charlotte and work in both the OR and clinic as needed

Responsibilities

  • Assist pediatric dentists and anesthesiologists chairside during procedures involving general anesthesia
  • Prepare, sterilize, and organize instruments, treatment rooms, and anesthesia equipment
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and support anesthesia care under supervision
  • Create a welcoming and comforting experience for young patients
  • Educate parents on oral hygiene and post-operative care
  • Capture dental X-rays while following safety guidelines
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans and anesthesia documentation
  • Support front-office operations as needed
  • Manage inventory of dental supplies and anesthesia equipment
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment
  • Travel to various practice locations as required
