About The Position

We are seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team at a prestigious dental practice specializing in both Oral Surgery and Pediatric Dentistry. The role involves providing exceptional patient care, assisting in surgical and operative procedures, and ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assisting program is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant, with exposure to oral surgery and/or pediatric dentistry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate patient records.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • CPR certification and radiography license preferred.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist oral surgeon and pediatric dentists during surgical and operative procedures, including third molar extractions and frenectomies.
  • Prepare and break down treatment rooms, ensuring all instruments, materials, and equipment are sterilized and ready for use.
  • Take dental X-rays, intraoral photographs, and digital scans as required by the dentists.
  • Provide chairside assistance during patient examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
  • Make end-of-day patient calls after procedures.
  • Educate patients and parents about oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans, medical histories, and progress notes.
  • Help treatment coordinator with scheduling oral surgery consultations and procedures, including tracking patients for reminders and answering pre-procedural questions.
  • Aid in the management of inventory of dental supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety protocols, ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth workflow and optimal patient care.
