This position is for a Dental Assistant within the Federal service, specifically for locations in Fort Hall, ID; Salem, OR; Warm Springs, OR; Nespelem, WA; Omak, WA; and Toppenish, WA. The role requires candidates to demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties associated with the position. Experience can include both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer service through National Service programs.   • Assist dentists in various procedures and treatments.
  • Monitor nitrous oxide and take x-rays.
  • Perform coronal polishing and apply sealants.
  • Place and carve restoratives and take final impressions under supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with radiologic procedures and safety standards.
  • Completion of an accredited dental assistant or dental hygiene program.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level.
  • Knowledge of radiation physics, biology, health, safety, and protection.
  • Ability to perform advanced duties under a dentist's supervision.
  • Experience in specialized dentistry or expanded functions.
  • Certification as a radiographer.
  • Experience in a federal service environment.
