Clinical Support & Patient Care Assist dentists, dental therapists, hygienists, and clinical staff during procedures (restorative, preventive, surgical) Prepare and maintain instruments, equipment, and materials Set up and clean treatment rooms before and after each patient Ensure patient comfort, safety, and readiness for care Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment per protocols Support referrals, follow-up care, and coordination For Licensed Dental Assistants (if applicable): Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) Perform expanded functions as allowed by licensure Patient Interaction Greet and prepare patients for treatment Obtain and update medical histories and vital signs Provide oral health education and post-treatment instructions Support interpretation (in-person or virtual) as needed Foster a welcoming, respectful, and culturally responsive environment Administrative & Operational Support Assist with scheduling, check-in, and patient flow Document care and enter data into electronic systems Support billing, insurance, and referrals Maintain inventory and order supplies Perform general office tasks (phones, scheduling, coordination) Team Collaboration & Community Engagement Collaborate with dental, medical, and behavioral health teams Participate in team meetings and care coordination Support outreach and community oral health education efforts Provide care in community settings (e.g., schools, public health events) including sealants, fluoride varnish, and preventive services (as appropriate to role) HealthFinders Staff Responsibilities Collect and report program data and evaluation metrics Attend staff meetings and maintain scheduled work hours Represent HFC’s mission and values in the community Support other programs and initiatives as needed Demonstrate commitment to teamwork, equity, and service to diverse populations Training & Pathway to Licensure HealthFinders Collaborative is committed to growing the next generation of dental professionals. For unlicensed hires, HFC provides: On-the-job training in clinical support, infection control, and patient care workflows Mentorship from experienced dental assistants, hygienists, and providers Support in developing skills needed for expanded clinical responsibilities over time As experience is gained, employees may have the opportunity to: Receive support toward Dental Assistant registration/licensure (as applicable in Minnesota) Learn to take dental radiographs and perform additional duties (based on training and eligibility Grow into more advanced clinical or community-based roles within HFC This role is designed as both an immediate support position and a career pathway into dental and healthcare professions.
