About The Position

Virginia Family Dentistry is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to support the clinical team at their Atlee location. The role focuses on prioritizing patient needs while assisting with dental procedures and maintaining a smooth workflow in the office. The ideal candidate will have x-ray certification and a strong background in dental assisting, contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

• X-ray certification is required.
• Knowledge of dental procedures and OSHA regulations is necessary.
• Experience as a dental assistant, preferably 1 year.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Dentrix software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review the doctor's schedule daily and prepare for patient appointments with necessary supplies and lab cases.
• Assist the doctor with procedures, including taking x-rays and cleaning the room between patients.
• Input treatment plans into Dentrix as provided by the doctor.
• Keep the schedule on time and communicate with the front desk if running behind.
• Bring each patient to the front desk with a completed route slip and treatment plan.
• Maintain a lab tracking system to ensure all lab work is ready for patient appointments.
• Ensure instrument sterilization and adherence to infection control protocols.
• Support team members by managing schedules and following up with patients regarding needed treatments.
• Track outstanding lab cases for the doctor and assist with ordering and unpacking supplies.
• Help hygienists and administrative staff as needed.
