About The Position

Mountain Empire Community College invites applications for adjunct instructors to teach Dental Assisting. We are seeking applicants available for on-campus, online, and clinical instruction for daytime and/or evenings and/or weekends. Salary is based on the academic preparation and work experience of the applicant and is determined according to the VCCS Adjunct Pay Schedule. Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in a classroom/virtual/clinical environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences.

Requirements

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) designation OR eligibility to obtain CDA through RDH/occupational experience.
• Satisfactory clinical experience in Dental Assisting.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including day and evening hours.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in any field.
• DA-II or Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) certifications (Virginia Board of Dentistry).
• Teaching experience in college-level courses.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
