About The Position

As the Dental Assistant 2, you will be certified in expanded functions, supporting dentists in providing dental services per the regulations set by the Oklahoma State Board of Dentistry. You will possess a specialization in pediatric cleanings and dental prophylaxis for our younger patients. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of dental terminology to effectively interpret orders, manage requests, and coordinate patient appointments. You will report to the Dental Office Manager. PG06 | Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am to 4:30pm | Weekly Earned Wage Access is an Option for this Position | Primary Tasks: Patient education expert on proper oral hygiene techniques, postoperative care, and overall oral health. Take dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring patient safety and keeping abreast of latest techniques through continuing education. Provide pediatric and adult cleanings, applying dental materials including sealants and fluoride treatments during cleanings, utilizing expanded function certification. Welcome patients to the treatment chair, record their medical and dental histories and vital signs, and ensure their comfort throughout their visit. Schedules and confirms appointments, manages patient record confidentiality, and oversees dental supplies inventory to ensure continuity of care for CNHSA patients, specifically pediatric populations. Ensure compliance with dental care regulations and safety standards. Complete tasks as assigned to Dental Assistant Level 1. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience: · Dental Assistant Permit through the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry · IHS Radiology Certification · BLS Certification · Completion of one [1] Expanded Dental Assisting course · One [1] year of dental assisting experience High school diploma or GED Must obtain Dental Permit from the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry w/30 days of hire Must obtain radiology certification in one year Basic knowledge of dental charting systems, dental terminology, and oral health educationYou will assist the operating dentist, essentially being an extra pair of hands. Charts dental treatment as advised by the dentist. Set up the dental instruments and accessories needed for each individual dental procedure/surgeries. You will communicate and record patient concerns. Take clear and readable diagnostic dental radiographs. You will practice infection control standards as set forth by company policy and procedures. Maintain dental equipment by performing basic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer Assist the ward clerk with office responsibilities when needed. Perform other tasks as may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Dental Assistant Permit through the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry
  • IHS Radiology Certification
  • BLS Certification
  • Completion of one [1] Expanded Dental Assisting course
  • One [1] year of dental assisting experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must obtain Dental Permit from the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry w/30 days of hire
  • Must obtain radiology certification in one year
