About The Position

A growing junior denim brand is seeking a strong Technical Designer to join its team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented technical expert with extensive import denim experience. The Technical Designer will partner closely with Design and Production to develop and execute fit, construction, and quality standards across a range of denim silhouettes. This position owns the technical development process from initial samples through production, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and on-time delivery. Key responsibilities include managing fit and construction standards, creating and maintaining detailed Tech Packs, reviewing samples and wash executions, communicating daily with overseas factories, and overseeing development timelines and costing. The role also supports CAD wash development, line sheets, and technical documentation to ensure seamless execution across styles and programs. This is an in-office role

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in denim technical design, preferably within junior or opening price-point programs
  • Walmart experience strongly preferred
  • Proven import production experience, including daily communication with overseas factories
  • Strong knowledge of denim fit, construction, and wash development across multiple silhouettes (bootcut, wide leg, straight, etc.)
  • Expertise in creating and maintaining detailed Tech Packs, including specs, BOMs, construction callouts, and wash information
  • Hands-on experience attending and leading fit sessions, collaborating closely with Design to align on fit intent
  • Ability to establish and maintain block styles, base specs, and construction templates for consistent execution
  • Solid understanding of costing, WIP tracking, and development timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in technical sketching, front and back flats, and CAD for denim washes or twill programs
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines simultaneously
  • Comfortable supporting a Design Director as a key partner, with a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently
