About The Position

Under minimal supervision, this position will provide product expertise on specific equipment lines and build long term relationships within the territory to maximize company profitability and market share. This individual will be expected to specialize in the equipment lines in order to provide support to the sales professionals and customers on the products. This position will report to the Director of Aftermarket Sales & Service.

Requirements

  • Background and/or knowledge of industrial equipment and products highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in selling and demonstrating industrial products to prospective buyers.
  • Good written, oral, and reading communication skills.
  • Excellent organization, time management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must be multitask oriented, organized, able to set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Current driver’s license and insurable driving record.
  • Demonstrated ability to exhibit and model Alamo Group's Leadership Core Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing is preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Minimum 7-10 years’ service and/or heavy equipment sales experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assists territory sales force by conducting product demonstrations and sales training to dealers and retail customers.
  • Responsible to participate in the training of dealers and end users with regard to operation and safety characteristics of our equipment.
  • Responsible for walk around and operation of demonstrations to prospective customers.
  • Responsible for working with Regional Sales Managers and dealers to coordinate equipment demonstrations.
  • Keeps abreast of industry trends, competitor products and new market products including regulations, which could affect product offerings and uses.
  • Assists service department with field related issues.
  • Assists with new product development and testing.
  • Able to travel extensively to various territories and/or dealer sites both locally, nationally, and internationally.
  • Able to attend trade shows.
