About The Position

The Demolition Manager will be responsible for the entire demolition project process, including preplanning, study completions, permitting, managing the bid process, and overseeing the execution in the field to ensure all Vistra responsibilities are met on schedule during the demolition.

Requirements

  • High School Dipolma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 6 years of demolition experience, with prior experience in project management
  • Minimum 6 years experience in budget and schedule management
  • Experience in large scale environmental remediation
  • Ability to manage large contract scope

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the Vistra demolition projects from start to finish, including pre-permitting studies, permitting, job bidding, budgets, schedules, and direct contractor oversight in the field.
  • Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are followed and maintained
  • Work with strategic sourcing department to bid out demolition projects, including putting together the technical bid documents, conducting bid walks, and responding to all technical questions about the project
  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and work timetables for any scope of work not included in the demolition contract
  • Interpret and understand the main demolition contract and technical information to work with main contractor through contract completion
  • Report work progress and budget matters to management via standard processes and procedures
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors and the operations team at site (if applicable)
  • Work with demolition contractor to understand schedule and justify percent complete
  • Understand and approve monthly invoices from the demolition contractor for payment.
  • Communicate with executive management using weekly and monthly reports
  • Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other problems and coordinate with management and site to answer any RFI’s from the contractor
  • Comply with legal requirements, building and safety codes, and other regulations
  • Work with operations staff for plant turnover
