About The Position

FLO Analytics is seeking a full-time Demographer to join their team in Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, or remotely from anywhere in the US. The role focuses on demographic analysis, project management, and innovative thinking to influence decisions in K-12 education systems. The Demographer will develop student enrollment forecasts, conduct boundary reviews, and collaborate with clients and team members to deliver customized solutions.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in demography, population, geography, statistics, or a related field (or 1+ years with a Master's or PhD).
• Proficiency in demographic methods and population estimation techniques.
• Experience with GIS tools and data processing software like Alteryx.
• Strong project management, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with K-12 school districts, especially in enrollment forecasting.
• Familiarity with Python, R, SPSS, SAS, Stata, and SQL.
• Background in consulting with school districts or local governments.

Responsibilities

• Develop student enrollment forecasts for K-12 school districts using demographic methods and GIS.
• Create data visualizations such as tables, charts, and maps to support planning projects.
• Conduct attendance area boundary reviews and long-term planning evaluations.
• Collaborate with clients to define project scopes and develop timelines.
• Work closely with team members and external partners to share insights and develop innovative approaches.
