About The Position

Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council is a non-profit organization formed by the Native American Tribes of Wisconsin. We serve all WI tribes by providing administration of grant-funded programs either directly or with sub grants. Programs serve a range of functions from Children to Elders. Our Mission is: To Enhance the quality of life for all Native People. The Dementia Care Program Coordinator will assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the assigned Dementia Program workplan; project management; and staff management. The Program Coordinator will assist with overall implementation of the Dementia Care grant, including providing training to Tribal communities in the Bemidji area. Working as a member of the program team, this role will use advanced analytical, research, project management, and relationship management skills to deliver on priority work plan activities, including program assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Frequent travel is required to meet the needs of the position. This position is in our Green Bay, Wisconsin office. The Dementia Care Program Coordinator has a primary duty to assist the Dementia Care Program Director with day-to-day operations, program scheduling, data organization, reporting, and partner communications. Additionally, the program coordinator co-creates and refines new program offerings and provides “Train the Trainer” training and dementia education.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Public Health, Bachelor of Science, or bachelor’s in healthcare administration
  • Two years’ project management experience and or training
  • Demonstrated understanding of cultural, social, and systemic factors affecting elders in Tribal communities
  • Understanding of traditional American Indian health issues
  • Experience working with Native American Tribal Governments, Tribal organizations, and/or not-for-profit agencies in epidemiology
  • Ability to work independently and as a program team member
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Conducts program duties necessary for funding, which include grant writing, compliance, and reporting.
  • Conduct outreach with tribal communities.
  • Dementia education, presentations, and training as needed and requested.
  • Organizes meetings and community listening sessions.
  • Preparation of reports for Tribal Nations and funders.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Director
