About The Position

The Demand Planner will plan and schedule workflow for the production and converting departments. This position is responsible for managing the production and converting plan in coordination with receiving, shipping and maintenance. In addition, this position will work closely with raw material purchasing. Essential Functions: Plans and prepares production schedules for the production and converting departments. Develop schedules to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts and/or customer orders. Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes. Plans sequence of fabrication for guidance of production workers. Consult with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects. Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Prepare Production Reports. Generate Production and Converting plans weekly, adjust daily as daily sales and material deliveries dictate Provide finished goods availability commitments to customer service as needed Develop metrics (controls) to track performance characteristics of planning process: Order fulfillment (back order level and aging) Capacity loading (MR loading trend [mother rolls] & converting [allocated mother roll]) Adjust planning parameters based on periodic (quarterly) analysis to achieve planning performance goals: Bills-of-Material (as needed based on supplier/raw material changes, New Product Introductions and material use-up effectivities) Make-to-Stock versus Make-to-Order Identify significant material constraints and allocate common material appropriately Develop and maintain tools and processes to achieve all of the above. Work with Purchasing and Suppliers for new and current raw materials and packaging supplies on trials and resolving quality issues. Participate and support projects and process improvements in Operations. Additional Responsibilities: Follows prescribed safety regulations Maintains an optimal level of product quality and adheres to ORAFOL’s Quality Program Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Five years’ relevant experience required
  • Analyze technical data and supply recommendations to management for on-going process issues
  • PC and or Design software skills required
  • Must have a positive “can do” attitude
  • Must be a fast learner, driven and self-motivated; strive towards continuous improvement
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example
  • Must have Strong analytical skills and very detail oriented

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
