About The Position

As a Demand Planner, you will be responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts to support inventory and distribution planning. You will serve as the focal point for Demand Planning processes for assigned business units. You will adjust forecasts to align with trends, upcoming seasonal movement and/or sales insight by analyzing reports and utilizing tools provided. You will partner closely with supply, procurement, sales, and operations to align demand plans with business objectives. You will combine analytical skills with strong business acumen to deliver actionable insights that drive KPIs and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience working within a demand planning function or Merchandising role with relevant training and/or certifications
• 2+ years of demand planning and forecasting experience preferred
• 1 years of experience with Supply Chain Planning applications, Inventory Optimization and/or Network Design (Blue Yonder, Kinaxis, o9, OMP, Oracle, SAP, or other leading Advanced Planning System)
• 2+ years preferred knowledge of Supply Chain processes, such as SIOP - Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning, Forecasting, Demand and Supply Planning, and Materials Management
• Bachelors Degree - Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance or related field required
• Licenses/Certificates/Designations - Institute for Supply Management (ISM), Blue Yonder (JDA) or other leading Advanced Planning System (APS), American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
• Mathematical and statistical knowledge, able to identify and analyze complex data, evaluate patterns and techniques to develop conclusions and insights used for the decision-making processes
• Excellent communication and support skills and ability to explain complex concepts and analytics to non-technical audience and translate user requirements into actionable data
• Aptitude for working with both quantitative and qualitative data
• Ability to prioritize and handle many projects at once with ever shifting priorities and deadlines with ability to track and manage progress
• Strong in MS Excel, Access, and/or PowerBI or other Business Intelligence (BI) Tools, e.g. Tableau, or Qlik
• Experience with Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) systems, particularly related to the Demand Planning processes preferred
• Ability to travel up to 25%

Responsibilities

• Develops Demand forecasts (operational Forecast) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function
• Reviews and adjusts statistical forecast parameters as needed at the direction of system-generated exceptions
• Reviews historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepares moderate to complex forecast data, develops statistical forecast models and evaluates forecast results
• Analyzes reports, identifying areas of opportunities to improve forecast metrics
• Leverages demand planning tools and ERP systems to optimize forecasting processes
• Leads monthly demand review meetings as part of the S&OP process by collaborating with sales, marketing and customer finance as needed
• Delivers against key demand planning metrics (Forecast Accuracy & Bias) and ability to speak to management around missed targets while identifying gaps and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Supports product lifecycle management, including New Product Introductions, transitions and end-to-life planning
• Supports and helps develop Best Practices across teams and system utilization by collaborating with peers and documenting process
• Embraces changing priorities with an open mindset, collaborating with cross-functional teams to adjust forecasts, processes and plans as business direction evolves
• Demonstrates initiative and confidence by asking the right questions, contributing ideas and taking ownership to move demand planning initiatives forward
