About The Position

Supply and Demand Planner Huntsman is seeking a Supply and Demand Planner supporting the Supply Chain organization located in The Woodlands, Texas. This position will report to the Supply Chain Planning Manager. Job Scope The Supply and Demand Planner is responsible for balancing customer demand with available supply within an assigned product family. This role works closely with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to ensure accurate forecasting, effective order management, and continuous improvement in supply chain performance while supporting business objectives. In summary, as the Supply and Demand Planner, you will: Develop a strong understanding of customers and products within the assigned product family, collaborating closely with Sales to assess near-term demand and identify forecast gaps. Monitor daily orders versus forecast for the current month and support allocation processes during periods of constrained supply, as directed by leadership. Analyze historical sales performance against future plans, challenging discrepancies and assumptions using KPIs such as forecast accuracy and forecast bias. Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing forecast error and improving demand planning performance. Ensure timely and accurate updates to the forecast database (FUTURCAST) in alignment with monthly snapshot requirements. Conduct daily reviews of unconfirmed orders and provide guidance on order acceptance, revised ship dates, or rejection in coordination with the Customer Service team. Review and validate demand uploaded into SAP, monitoring demand signals including planned independent requirements, sales orders, and intercompany purchase orders. Adjust demand elements within SAP to support effective supply and demand balancing. Provide guidance for in-period production schedule adjustments and support rapid response planning during unexpected supply disruptions such as weather events, plant outages, or raw material shortages. Monitor inventory levels of key raw materials and intermediates to ensure continuity of plant operations and customer fulfillment. Participate in cross-functional projects and represent the supply chain function and assigned product family in meetings and business development initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • 4+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related operational field.
  • Operational experience in supply chain-related functions such as Customer Service, Logistics, Procurement, Operations, Production, or Inventory Management.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Execution-oriented mindset with the ability to achieve valuable results.
  • Sound decision-making capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational perspective with the ability to understand end-to-end supply chain impacts.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills with a strong internal and external customer focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with production scheduling, order fulfillment, inventory management, or material master data maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Material Resource Planning (MRP) concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP (preferred) or another major ERP system.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and standard business systems.
