About The Position

If you are someone passionate about troubleshooting and providing technical solutions, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in either the Austin, TX, St Louis, MO, or Eden Prairie, MN locations, the DeltaV Product Engineer will offer high tier Product Consultation and Solutions as part of the overall Customer Support organization, working closely with customers on a variety of product topics. We are looking for problem solvers who enjoy working with customers to provide solutions to technical challenges. In addition to customer interactions, DeltaV Product Engineers work closely with Emerson organizations such as Technology, Marketing, Customer Success, Lifecycle Programs, and Project Execution. By joining us as a Product Engineer you will be part of a worldwide department that is providing third level support for customer issues with Emerson’s DeltaV Software products, occasionally performing customer projects such as software upgrades or general consultation, and working with Marketing and Technology on Emerson’s next generation products. We are looking for someone who enjoys troubleshooting and working to solve product related issues and who can handle technical topics relating to DeltaV and associated products.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering or relevant degree
  • Must have 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Creative problem solver
  • Experience in Control Systems or technical software support
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential to support regular interfacing with customers and other departments within Emerson

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DeltaV Software and related applications, most relevant experience for this position would include one or more of the following: Operator Interface software, OPC communications, Objectivity and SQL database, Backup and Recovery Software, Antivirus applications

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with customers, Emerson local offices, Global Service Center (GSC) front line support engineers, and software developers on technical solutions to DeltaV applications
  • Provide feedback to Technology regarding our end user requirements of DeltaV software based on the investigation of field issues
  • Generate close, consultative long term relationships with key Emerson customers in order to assist with their DeltaV support needs
  • Travel (estimate 0-3 trips/year, typically a week or less per trip) to customer sites or other Emerson locations primarily in North America, potentially worldwide if opportunities arise
  • Grow awareness and skills related to the full breadth of Emerson products that interact with the DeltaV software
