Dell IT Interns join us for a 10-week internship over the summer of 2026. Dell IT Interns receive invaluable exposure to a variety of projects that have real world value and impact on the entire company during their internship. In addition, our IT Interns have many opportunities to contribute to local service projects, build a community with their fellow IT interns, and experience the inclusive and engaging culture of Dell IT. With a wide variety of projects and responsibilities spanning across several Digital organizations, the college professional can expect to be fully engaged within Dell IT as a Software Engineering Intern.

  • Develop high availability and highly scalable applications which will be used by both internal and external customers
  • Practice and facilitate Human-Centered Design (Design Thinking) methodologies
  • Learn and balance user and business goals to achieve desirable, viable, and feasible solutions
  • Work on interactive design projects that meet both user and business objectives, while maintaining and supporting brand standards
  • Partner and collaborate effectively with researchers, engineers, designers, product owners, and business stakeholders on all initiatives
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or similar field with a target graduation date of Spring 2027 or 2028
  • Strong Object-Oriented Analysis and Design skill or strong adherence to SOLID software design principles
  • Basic knowledge of object-oriented programming languages; operating systems; device drivers; databases; system, network, operating system, and application administration; embedded software/firmware; tools and utilities, as applicable
  • Able to code/debug simple programs using either written or verbal design specifications
  • Beginner-level expertise in one or more of the following: Database programming (SQL)
  • Data modeling (ERD), mapping and implementation (DDL)
  • Business Intelligence software packages (Microsoft, Business Objects, Crystal Reports, or other)
  • Fundamental concepts, practices and procedures related to applications programming
  • Basic knowledge of coding, testing, and debugging simple applications
  • Hourly range for this position is $27.70 to $30.75 per hour
