The Delivery Technician is responsible for delivering durable medical equipment to Apria patients in the home. This role involves pulling, packing, delivering, and picking up medications, supplies, and basic equipment. The technician may instruct patients on the basic use of respiratory therapy equipment, durable medical equipment, oxygen equipment, and other equipment/services approved by state licensure limitations. The position requires loading and unloading durable medical and infusion equipment onto the delivery vehicle, responding to emergency delivery calls, completing necessary paperwork, and maintaining supply components of patient profiles. The technician must notify supervisors of any concerning conditions in the patient's home and may assist with the cleaning and repair of equipment. Routine vehicle maintenance is also part of the job responsibilities.

  • Pulls, packs, delivers and picks up medications, supplies and basic equipment.
  • Instructs patients on basic use of respiratory therapy equipment and durable medical equipment.
  • Loads and unloads durable medical and infusion equipment onto delivery vehicle.
  • Responds to emergency delivery calls during regular business hours and on an on-call basis.
  • Completes necessary paperwork including daily delivery logs and vehicle maintenance logs.
  • Maintains supply component of patient profiles.
  • Notifies supervisor of concerning conditions in the patient's home.
  • Cleans and assists with the repair of equipment.
  • Performs routine vehicle maintenance.
  • Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma is required.
  • At least one year related experience is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older at the time of hire.
  • Minimum of three years driving history required.
  • Successful completion of Apria Healthcare's Driver Training Program.
  • Must meet job-related requirements to comply with D.O.T., F.D.A. and standards of accrediting body.
  • English language skills (reading, writing, verbal).
