The Delivery Specialist will maintain and operate store vehicles to deliver parts and/or products to professional customers in a safe and efficient manner. This position will also collect money on C.O.D. deliveries and pick up customer returns. Key functions include operating company vehicles for deliveries, using hand-held devices for processing deliveries, capturing customer signatures, updating vehicle mileage, and completing daily vehicle inspections. The specialist is responsible for keeping vehicles clean, maintained, and secure, along with keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, hand-held devices, and monies collected. The role involves picking up customer returns, communicating customer problems or special needs to store management, and reporting vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damage immediately. The specialist must ensure the fuel tank is filled and the vehicle is locked and secured at the end of the day, and clock in/out according to company policy. Additional duties may include customer service, sweeping, general stocking and straightening stock, merchandising, running errands, handling core returns, checking in and putting up stock orders. The specialist may occasionally assist customers, serve as a cashier, and/or help with merchandising tasks when business dictates.
