About The Position

Connor Co., a company rich in history, currently has an available Delivery Driver position in Peoria, IL. Candidates must be able to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. An 8-hour shift is guaranteed; however, the start and end times may vary. The delivery driver position is unionized and will be eligible for the Teamsters' benefits package. Principal Accountabilities: Loads the delivery truck with the product securely to avoid damage Delivers items by identifying destinations, establishing a route, operating the truck, unloading items, and maintaining the schedule Picks up returns items for the company Verifies products delivered against the packing slip and has the customer sign the receipt Serves customers by understanding and resolving or forwarding complaints Enhances the organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests Process inbound materials to the warehouse. Compares quantities shown on the packing slip or manifests with actual items received Efficient and effective loading and unloading of trucks Inspects items according to instructions and reports damaged goods Ensures materials are placed in the designated area within the warehouse Stacks skids or pallets in designated areas. Cleans up and disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping, and places them in the proper container or designated area General housekeeping: sweeping, mopping, dusting Perform other duties as requested

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required, or its equivalent
  • Valid Illinois Class C driver's license and clean driving record required
  • Critical thinker-using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions
  • Mathematical reasoning- the ability to choose the right method or formulas to solve the problem
  • Ability to learn the Eclipse software
  • Must be very detail-oriented and focused on accuracy
  • Ability to perform assignments with minimal supervision and under tight deadlines
  • Must have strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Must maintain a patient and professional attitude while managing a busy workload
  • Strong organizational skills required
  • Must be able to determine and prioritize workload
  • Ability to read directions and use a street map to plot a delivery route
  • Physical strength must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities
