Delivery Driver
About The Position
As a Delivery Driver at Graybar, you will be the face of the company, interacting directly with customers as you deliver orders. This role involves safely operating a Graybar truck or van to transport products from the warehouse to various destinations, ensuring on-time delivery and excellent customer service. You will be responsible for fostering positive customer relationships, relaying customer feedback, and even promoting company services and products. A key advantage of this position is its predictable Monday-Friday daytime schedule, allowing you to be home every night. Requirements
- Customer service skills
- Ability to perform the physical requirements necessary to work in a warehouse environment; must pass pre-employment physical testing
- Safely operate warehouse equipment and proper use of PPE
- Experience required driving a van or truck equal or below 26,000 GVW
- Must have a valid driver’s license issued by his/her state of residence appropriate for type of vehicle
- Must be able to pass DOT medical exam and Commercial Motor Vehicle Certification
- Steel toed boots required
Responsibilities
- Help determine best routes for delivery to meet customer expectations
- Deliver products to Graybar customers while providing excellent customer service
- Load and unload trucks and use warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
- Inspect vehicle and supplies
- Safely operate vehicle at all times
- Maintain proper truck logs
- Work a local route – no overnights or weekends away
- Maintaining positive customer relations
- Passing along customer feedback
- Promoting services and products
