Requirements

• Holding a valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type (a commercial driver’s license (CDL) may be required for larger delivery vehicles).
• Having a clean driving record, free of any major violations.
• Being physically fit enough to load and unload goods, and to sit for extended periods while driving.
• Being able to navigate efficiently to various locations, which may include using GPS devices or maps.
• Possessing strong communication and customer service skills to effectively interact with customers and represent the company positively.
• Demonstrating excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries and efficient route planning.
• Being flexible with working hours, as delivery drivers may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Safely transporting goods and packages to and from specified locations within a given time frame, including documents, parts, tires, or equipment.
• Ensuring the vehicle is maintained in good working condition, which may include regular check-ups, cleaning, and immediate reporting of any mechanical problems.
• Efficiently loading and unloading goods or packages, ensuring they are securely placed to prevent damage during transport.
• Interacting with customers in a professional manner upon delivery, which may include answering questions, verifying deliveries with signatures, and handling payments or paperwork if necessary.
• Planning and following the most efficient routes for delivery, taking into account traffic conditions, distance, and delivery times.
• Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, including times, routes, and any issues encountered, in compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safe and legal operation of the vehicle, including following company-specific safety protocols.
• Addressing and resolving any customer issues or concerns that may arise during the delivery process.
