About The Position

Ruppert Landscape is a privately held commercial landscape maintenance and construction company based in Laytonsville, MD. With a multi-state presence and a small company feel, our mission is to provide opportunities for our people, take care of our customers, and be good stewards of the environment and our community. We are hiring a Delivery Driver to join our State College Maintenance team. Position Description: The Delivery Driver is responsible for transporting materials, equipment, and retail products as assigned. This includes delivering and picking up materials from job sites, vendors, and residential customers. When deliveries are not scheduled, this role assists with landscaping production tasks and shop/yard operations as needed. This is a safety-sensitive position and is subject to DOT drug and alcohol regulations.

Requirements

  • Class A CDL with at least 2 years of experience driving commercial grade vehicles and a clean driving record.
  • Proper trip navigation and planning, ensuring most efficient use of time and materials. Ability to safely operate company vehicles according to all federal and state regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Good organization skills and able to operate with limited supervision.
  • Familiarity with job site quality, safety and task completion expectations. Able to complete project tasks as assigned, including safe load/unload of vehicles and pre-trip inspections.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating standard loading equipment greatly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely load and secure materials in accordance with federal and state transportation regulations and industry best practices for nursery and landscaping materials
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safe and compliant vehicle operation
  • Plan routes efficiently to ensure on-time arrival at scheduled destinations
  • Deliver and pick up equipment and materials as directed
  • Secure delivery confirmations and required documentation
  • Assist with production operations, shop tasks, yard organization, and related duties as assigned
  • Follow all company safety standards, including proper PPE usage and site-specific safety requirements
  • Participate in seasonal snow removal operations as required
