About The Position

Abilene Water Service is seeking a dependable, customer-focused Delivery Driver to join our team. This position is responsible for delivering 5-gallon bottled water, 50-lb bags of salt, filters, and other products to customers along established routes. Our drivers are the face of our company—providing excellent customer service, maintaining route accuracy, and ensuring that customers always have the clean, safe water they depend on. This role requires a strong work ethic, physical stamina, safety awareness, and a positive attitude.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to repeatedly lift and carry up to 80 lbs
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving record
  • Ability to pass: Drug screening, Background check, WorkSTEPS physical assessment, Assessment inventories
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a team-oriented attitude

Responsibilities

  • Deliver all scheduled products (salt, chemicals, filters, bottled water) safely, efficiently, and on time
  • Provide excellent customer service during every interaction
  • Communicate clearly and positively with customers, including completing all required documents legibly
  • Respond swiftly and courteously to customer questions or concerns
  • Identify opportunities for additional product sales and inform customers of offerings
  • Maintain a positive, professional image as a representative of Abilene Water Service
  • Load and unload the delivery truck; ensure all materials for the day are on board
  • Safely lift and carry products up to 80 lbs repeatedly
  • Safeguard customer property (homes, keys, security codes, pets); take steps to prevent damage
  • Ensure equipment is set up and operating properly; notify office if maintenance is needed
  • Keep accurate records of products delivered, returned, or exchanged
  • Maintain open, positive communication with coworkers, departments, and leadership
  • Assist and support team members as needed
  • Promote a cooperative and productive team environment
  • Suggest improvements in processes, operations, or customer experience
  • Follow all safety rules, company policies, and procedures
  • Take precautions to avoid accidents and injuries
  • Operate company vehicles and forklifts safely and courteously
  • Maintain and care for company vehicles, equipment, and tools
  • Maintain and repair plant equipment when needed
