Nuclear Pharmacy is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines. They may also consult with or advise physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy. Pharmacy Services & Delivery contributes to Cardinal Health by being responsible for the prompt and accurate delivery and distribution of radiopharmaceuticals or oncology pharmaceuticals to medical care providers in accordance with customer demand and requirements of the assigned route. This role involves preparing doses for shipment, preparing cases, wiping doses, and loading and unloading containers in keeping with the prescribed safety standards and Department of Transportation (DOT). The position schedules 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 7:30 am - 3:30 pm, with weekends and holidays as needed. The candidate must be flexible to work different shifts, days, schedules and mandatory overtime as needed. At this level, individuals are expected to apply acquired knowledge and skills to complete standard tasks, readily learn and apply new information and methods to work in assigned areas, and maintain appropriate licenses, training, and certifications. The role involves working on routine assignments that require some problem resolution, operating within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods, and adhering to all quality guidelines. Work is performed under a moderate degree of supervision, with output typically reviewed regularly by a work lead or supervisor. Complex or unusual problems are referred to the supervisor.
