The Delivery Driver at Treasure Coast Food Bank plays a crucial role in ensuring that food is safely transported to various feeding program sites within the Treasure Coast area. This position involves not only the transportation of food but also the management of all aspects related to food distribution, including receiving, storage, and distribution. The driver will be responsible for maintaining the delivery vehicles and equipment, keeping accurate mileage logs, and completing necessary program paperwork. Collaboration with the nutrition team and other staff members is essential to ensure the smooth operation of the food distribution process. In this role, the driver will make local pick-ups and drop-offs of program food, ensuring that products are transported securely and in compliance with food safety guidelines. The driver will operate various vehicles, including box trucks and vans, and will be responsible for loading and unloading products at multiple agencies and other entities. It is imperative that the driver performs preventative maintenance on the vehicles, conducts pre-and post-trip inspections, and reports any damages or issues to the Transportation Manager. The driver will also be tasked with maintaining cleanliness in the vehicles and ensuring that all necessary paperwork related to the transport of products is completed accurately. Additionally, the Delivery Driver will assist with warehouse operations, including loading and unloading trucks, checking the condition of refrigeration equipment, and receiving incoming products. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can work under pressure and meet deadlines while representing the Treasure Coast Food Bank in a professional manner. The ability to lift up to 75 lbs and operate large machinery is necessary, and while forklift certification is preferred, it is expected to be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
