About The Position

BT Energy is seeking a qualified driver to operate a commercial vehicle with a capacity of at least 33,000 GVW. The primary responsibility of this role is to transport and deliver liquefied petroleum products (LPG) to various locations including homes, agricultural sites, and commercial or construction sites as needed. The position requires the driver to load and unload the truck and utilize handheld computer equipment while on the delivery route. Candidates must possess a Class B commercial driver's license with Hazardous Materials and Tanker endorsements, as well as a DOT Medical card and be subject to random drug and alcohol screenings semiannually.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a commercial vehicle with a capacity of at least 33,000 GVW to transport and deliver liquefied petroleum products (LPG).
  • Load and unload the truck and use handheld computer equipment in the delivery truck.
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures when transporting hazardous materials.
  • Check the vehicle daily to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Maintain logs of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Obtain receipts or signatures when loads are delivered and collect payment for services when required.
  • Check all load-related documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Drive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons to transport and deliver products or other materials.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles to the supervisor immediately.
  • Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes.
  • Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.
  • Operate equipment such as truck delivery computers and telephones to exchange necessary information with offices, supervisors, or other drivers, only when the truck is parked.
