About The Position

The Delivery Driver (non-CDL) at Hajoca Corporation is responsible for safely operating delivery trucks, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of merchandise to various locations. This role emphasizes customer service, attention to detail, and compliance with safety regulations. The driver will load and unload merchandise, manage shipping documentation, and maintain the delivery vehicle in good condition.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Possess a proper and valid driver's license.
  • Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver according to Company policy.
  • Pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before starting work and every two years thereafter.
  • Know the laws, rules, and regulations governing driving motor vehicles, especially commercial vehicles.
  • Apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Remain calm and function effectively in stressful situations.
  • Learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment and computer systems used in delivery processes.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
  • Perform basic arithmetic operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Operate trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations.
  • Load the truck with Hajoca merchandise for delivery and secure the load properly.
  • Understand and review shipping documents associated with each delivery and ensure order accuracy.
  • Unload merchandise at delivery sites and obtain signatures for all deliveries.
  • Collect and secure outstanding payments for cash sale deliveries before releasing materials to customers.
  • Resolve shipping discrepancies with customers at delivery sites.
  • Load trucks at other locations with merchandise, including returns and vendor pickups.
  • Provide sales leads based on customer interactions during deliveries.
  • Inspect the truck and required parts for safe operating conditions before departure.
  • Complete the Driver's Daily Vehicle Inspection Report at the end of the workday.
  • Remove keys from the truck and store them in the approved location.
  • Complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
