Hajoca Corporation, founded in 1858, is one of the country’s largest privately-held wholesale distributors of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies. Hajoca functions in a decentralized environment, where each location, known as a Profit Center (PC), is managed by a Profit Center Manager as an independent business. These PCs, such as Apex Supply in Cumming, GA, operate under distinct trade names and offer customized business approaches tailored to their local markets. Apex Supply is currently seeking a Delivery Driver Non CDL. This role involves safely operating trucks in compliance with company rules and regulations, loading and securing merchandise at the Profit Center, understanding shipping documents, ensuring order accuracy, unloading merchandise at various destinations, collecting outstanding payments for cash sales, resolving shipping discrepancies with customers, picking up merchandise from different locations, generating sales leads, conducting truck inspections, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, reporting mechanical issues, completing daily vehicle inspection reports when applicable, storing truck keys appropriately, and completing all required safety and compliance training programs.

Requirements

• Be able to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs.
• Be at least 21 years old
• Possess a proper and valid driver’s license
• Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy.
• Be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and again at least every two years while employed and performing this job function.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations.
• Load the truck at the Profit Center with Hajoca merchandise to be delivered.
• Secure the load properly so that nothing will shift, get damaged, or fall from the truck.
• Ensure that the necessary equipment to safely unload the merchandise is available.
• Understand the shipping documents that are associated with the merchandise for each delivery and have accurate directions to each delivery destination.
• Review shipping documentation and ensure order accuracy.
• Unload correct merchandise from the truck and place it where the receiving party wants it.
• Obtain legible signature for all merchandise delivered per Company policy and procedure.
• Collect and secure outstanding payments for all cash sale deliveries prior to releasing the material to the customer.
• Work with customers at the delivery site to resolve shipping discrepancies quickly and accurately.
• Load the truck at other locations with merchandise.
• Provide sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses discovered in the course of making deliveries.
• Inspect the truck and required parts and accessories to determine safe operating condition prior to departure from the Hajoca location.
• Keep truck clean of debris in cab and body.
• Advise management of any mechanical problems with the truck.
• At the end of the workday, complete the Driver’s Daily Vehicle Inspection Report when driving a delivery vehicle with a gross vehicle weight (GVWR) of 10,001 lbs. or more if a defect or deficiency is found.
• At the end of the workday, remove keys from the truck and store keys in the approved location.
• Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
• Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
