About The Position

Empire Coating Inc is looking for a reliable, versatile individual to join our team in a hybrid capacity. The Delivery Driver / Maintenance role is split between driving (around 18-20 hours/week) and light industrial maintenance, ensuring our products get to their destination and our facility stays in top shape. About Us: Empire Coating Inc is Western New Yorks leading coating applicator. Established in 1989, we are a cost-effective high-quality finisher, and we prove it through our work. Our capabilities include Chem Film, Paint, Powdercoat, Industrial Printing, Masking, Solid Film Lube and Blasting. Position Overview Driving & Logistics: Safe Operation: Securely operate a 26' box truck for local and regional deliveries/pickups. Loading/Unloading: Ensure all cargo is properly palletized, strapped, and secured. Assist with loading and unloading at docks using pallet jacks or forklifts. Documentation: Maintain accurate logs, BOLs (Bills of Lading), and delivery receipts. Vehicle Care: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report any mechanical issues immediately. Facilities & Light Maintenance: General Repairs: Perform basic "handyman" tasks around the manufacturing plant (e.g., minor plumbing, changing light fixtures, painting, or drywall repair). Preventative Maintenance: Assist the maintenance team with routine checks on HVAC filters, compressors, or non-technical machinery components. Safety & Grounds: Keep walkways clear, manage waste/recycling removal, and ensure the shop floor remains free of hazards. Organization: Maintain the inventory of maintenance supplies and tools. Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

• Valid driver license (CDL not required)
• Pre-employment DOT physical
• Previous experience as a Box Truck Driver
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to lift heavy objects
• Ability to drive a forklift required

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in warehouse, or other related field strongly preferred
• Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods
• Good organizational skills
• Current forklift license preferred
