About The Position

The individual selected for this role will be expected to work at Store #5719, located at: 2635 SE 16th Street, Ames, IA 50010. This is a Part-Time job. Starting Pay: $16.00/hr or based on relevant experience. This position is responsible for delivering products to customers from Sherwin-Williams stores using box and flat-bed trucks. Drivers ensure deliveries are complete, packed correctly, and safely delivered to the correct customer. Drivers are accountable for customer satisfaction and for transporting items in a safe, timely manner. Job duties involve contact with customers, which may include minors; and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise and other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the general public.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future.
• Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
• Must have a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) from a Department of Transportation (DOT) licensed 'medical examiner'.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion.
• Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends.
• Must read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public.
• If internal to Sherwin-Williams, must have received at least a 'meets expectations' (3) rating on the most recent performance appraisal.
• If internal to Sherwin-Williams, must have completed all HR Cloud eLearning courses required for the current position.

Nice To Haves

• Have at least a High School diploma or GED.
• Have at least one (1) year experience working as a delivery driver.
• Have at least one (1) year of work experience using material handling equipment.
• Have previous work experience selling paint and paint related products.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products to customers from Sherwin-Williams stores using box and flat-bed trucks.
• Ensure deliveries are complete, packed correctly, and safely delivered to the correct customer.
• Accountable for customer satisfaction and for transporting items in a safe, timely manner.
• Contact with customers, which may include minors.
• Access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise and other items of value.
• Retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion.
• Work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends.
• Read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public.
• Complete reports and other documents relating to deliveries.
• Operate equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
• Perform other tasks in the store, including warehouse duties, tinting, and mixing customer orders.
