About The Position

SNAPSHOT: The Delivery Driver represents and acts as the “Face of Lyons” providing the highest level of customer service to our retail and foodservice customers. A Route and Touch-Freight delivery position responsible for the safe, efficient, reliable delivery of products to Lyons customers.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have and maintain a valid CDL-Class A license and have a clear and acceptable driving record.
  • Must have at least 2+ years of CDL-Class A Tractor/Trailer commercial driving experience.
  • Must have and be able to maintain a valid DOT Physical certificate.
  • Must be able to work early morning route starts and be flexible during holidays. Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of this role.
  • Physical strength and stamina required to perform the regular duties of this job: repetitively lifting and/or moving up to 100lbs, frequently sitting, standing, climbing, and balancing.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of outdoor weather and variable environmental conditions.
  • Enthusiastic, driven, and willing to produce high quality, detailed, error-free work based on established company standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Effectively communicates with customers and works closely with a team environment.
  • Ability to self-motivate and able to perform job duties independently with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of a fast-paced environment with frequently short deadlines and regular problem-solving circumstances requiring a positive attitude with a high-level of adaptability and flexibility.

  • Professional experience in route and touch-freight delivery preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Represents Lyons Specialty Co in a professional manner providing friendly service.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures timely and consistent deliveries of damage-free products to designated customers / accounts by adhering to work assignments without tardiness and following routing instructions without deviation. Regular and prompt attendance is required.
  • Performs routine pre/post trip inspections on truck and other company equipment.
  • Safely operate Company Tractor/Trailer Refrigerated trucks and all other equipment complying with all federal, state, local laws, and company guidelines.
  • Responsible for unloading all products by hand and/or dolly placing in designated customer areas; in addition to accurately and efficiently using handheld scanner, verifying all counts and customer signatures, reporting any/all discrepancies, collection and management of customer account payments following required process and procedures.
  • Maneuvers a dolly carrying product or equipment effectively and safely.
  • Regularly works in a variety of outdoor weather and variable environmental conditions.
  • Repetitively lifts and/or carries up to 75lbs for extended periods in a fast-paced and physically demanding role: The position requires moderate climbing, kneeling, crawling, stooping, squatting, or bending. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by the person in the role to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Perform any duties as assigned from supervisor and/or department head.
