About The Position

We are searching for a personable professional with a Captain's license to join our team. We are a boat dealership with a service center, selling new and pre-owned boats. The role of the Delivery Captain is to coordinate with the service department to perform water tests of boats to check for performance issues prior to sea trials and deliveries, complete sea trials and product demonstrations with customers and assist with closing the sale by providing customers with a thorough and enjoyable trial experience, and complete product orientations with customers post-sale to ensure a smooth handoff process and help them to feel comfortable with and excited about their newly purchased boats! This individual must display competence and confidence with safely operating company vehicles, driving and maneuvering trailers, and operating vessels up to 32' (including pontoons and tritoons, center consoles, dual consoles, runabouts, deck boats, etc). We value a servant leadership mentality to foster a culture of team work and customer satisfaction. This position will be worked primarily Monday-Friday with some weekend availability as needed.

Requirements

MUST HAVE CAPTAIN'S LICENSE.
Demonstrates advanced Seamanship skills.
High School Diploma or equivalent
At least two years’ experience in marine industry
Timeliness and effectiveness of problem resolution

Product knowledge across multiple brands of boats and varieties of electronics and systems
Docking, mooring, trailering, and open water vessel operation

Responsibilities

Delivers boats to customer location, boat ramp, boat shows, marinas or other destinations as needed.
Properly explains features and provide thorough orientation to customers upon delivery.
Demonstrates additional boating merchandise i.e., aftermarket electronics and navigational equipment.
Coordinates with the Team to establish delivery date to customer and arranges delivery of boat to the specified location.
Services boat with fuel and assists in casting off and tying up boat.
Performs minor engine and systems repairs and adjustments as needed.
Conducts periodic training classes to help reinforce our customers boating passion.
Demonstrates boats on the water, at off-site events and in the showroom as needed.
Professionally support customer events including, but not limited to Slipaways, Rendezvous, boat shows, etc.
Trains the Team on boat handling and safety, as needed.
Completes minor preventive maintenance on company owned boats on display in the water, including but not limited to cleaning of strainers, starting vessel and checking all systems, topping off water in batteries.
Other duties as assigned.
