About The Position

This position is accountable for assisting the driver and/or assistant driver with executing the delivery of products to our retailer customers. While inside the retailer’s premises, Delivery Casuals merchandise the products inside the store to maximize sales and also rotate the store’s inventory by date to ensure product freshness. Delivery Casual IIs possess CDL permits and may also drive the Class A Commercial vehicle, as well as other vehicles, as needed and/or for training purposes. Casuals may interact with retailer managers and also the retailer’s customers during the delivery. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Implement approved Company programs and policies. Conduct a daily Pre Tip inspection of his/her assigned vehicle. Ensures all required tools and equipment are available on the delivery truck. Safely execute accurate unloading, rotation and storage of all products in a timely manner. Maintain a driving record that is acceptable to the Company. Adhere to all DOT regulations. Maintain product freshness and move/rotate product when necessary. Maintain a pace of work that enables drivers to complete their deliveries in 14 hours or less due to DOT regulations. Work towards attainment of a Class A CDL. Hooks trailer to tractor and secures all connections as needed. Drives (if appropriate for position). Unloads (and sometimes loads) products. Collect payment and provide receipt. Positions forks or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials. SAFETY Due to the physical requirements, as well as the need to maintain a high level of continual alertness in the work environment, this is a safety sensitive position.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license (if needed for the position)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must have a driving record acceptable to the Company.
  • Forklift Training (if needed for the position)
