Delivery and Production Assistant
About The Position
Capri Gelato & Coffee Bar is expanding and we’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Production & Baker Assistant to support daily operations in a fast-paced gelato and bakery kitchen. If you enjoy working with high-quality ingredients and take pride in consistency and craftsmanship, we’d love to meet you. Our gelato is made fresh in house everyday using real ingredients and recipes designed by our award winning head chef. The gelato is served daily at both Capri store locations and wholesale accounts in the South bay. We are looking for a LONG TERM employee to grow with the Capri Gelato Family. At Capri Gelato & Coffee Bar, we are devoted to producing the finest quality gelato and coffee inspired by the Amalfi Coast. Our gelato and sorbetto flavors are inspired by Capri’s “ garden to table” lifestyle, focusing on local fresh fruit and premium grade pistachios and hazelnuts imported from Italy. Our business is more than a traditional gelato and coffee bar, we have expanded to special events such as the 2019 and 2020 Golden Globe Awards, where we served gelato and coffee to the stars. We are a growing team that cares deeply about the community, leading to our partnerships with local farms for all of our fresh ingredients and creating a sustainable composting program. Our training program is centered around hospitality, to ensure every team member and customer feels welcomed and valued. Our team believes in hiring the right people, giving them the tools they need to succeed, and supporting them along the way.
Requirements
- Previous kitchen, bakery, or production experience (not required)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow systems
- Ability to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, physically active environment
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to lift 30–50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Experience with "back of house" manual type labor (ie line cook, dishwashing, baking, etc)
- Clean driving record and Driver's License Required
- Ability to lift between 50-100lbs
- Friday, Saturday, Sunday Required
- Ability to follow very detailed, specific instructions
- Ability to perform under high pressure
- Ability to Multitask
Responsibilities
- Assist in daily production of gelato, baked goods, and related components
- Scale, measure, and prep ingredients with precision
- Follow recipes and production schedules to maintain consistency
- Operate kitchen equipment safely (mixers, batch freezers, ovens, etc.)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workspace
- Support inventory prep and basic kitchen organization
- Work closely with the production team to meet daily volume goals
- Deliveries (in company vehicle)
