About The Position

The Deli Team Lead is the hands-on captain of our in-store kitchen. You’ll be the first friendly face guests see at the counter, the last set of eyes on food quality and safety, and the go-to coach for a small deli crew. From greeting customers and suggestive selling to slicing, temperature-logging, cleaning, and ordering inventory, you will own every detail that keeps our deli fast, fresh, and sparkling. Requirements

• Age: 18 years or older.
• Communication: Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Math: Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division for cash handling and inventory counts.
• Physical: Lift 10 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally; stand, bend, and reach for extended periods; tolerate hot/cold temperature changes from kitchen to coolers/freezers.
• Personal Standards: Follow dress code and exemplary personal hygiene.
• Reliability: Consistent, on-time attendance and a customer-first attitude.

Responsibilities

• Guest Service: Welcome every customer with a smile, suggest add-ons/promotions, keep POS materials current, and thank guests for their business.
• Food Preparation & Safety: Prepare, package, label, and stock hot & cold foods; wear gloves; follow FIFO rotation, code-dating, and proper holding times; log food/equipment temperatures and act on any issues.
• Sanitation: Clean and sanitize deli equipment via the three-sink method; wipe counters, microwaves, cases, cooler doors, shelves, floors, windows, restrooms, and the parking lot; empty trash and replace liners.
• Stock & Inventory: Replenish cups, lids, condiments, napkins, straws, stirrers; stock shelves and coolers to planograms; date/price merchandise, remove out-of-code items, complete bad-merch forms; check-in vendor deliveries and place orders as needed.
• Cash & Team Leadership: Monitor cash levels and security on shift; review team assignments for completeness; provide on-the-job coaching, document required training, and give feedback on training materials.
• Other: Assume additional duties to meet overall store operational needs.
