That's WEIS! The Deli Sales Associate is responsible for keeping Deli service areas well stocked and appealing at all times to meet customer demands. The associate will smile and greet customers, answer customer questions, and help resolve customer concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner. The role includes ensuring freshness and condition of merchandise, operating slicing equipment, preparing ready-to-eat foods, and adhering to company recipes and safety policies. The associate may also operate cash register operations, assist in inventory control, and ensure general sanitation in the department.

Requirements

• Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Keeps Deli service areas well stocked and appealing at all times to meet customer demands.
• Smiles and greets customers, answers customer questions and helps resolve customer concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner.
• Ensures freshness and condition of merchandise in display cases along with proper prices and correct signs.
• Properly rotates product and handles spoiled or damaged products according to company procedures.
• Operates slicing equipment to provide meats and cheeses based on customer preferences.
• Packages items and applies sticker showing price, weight, and date.
• Prepares ready-to-eat foods to individual order of customers.
• Prepares platters of sliced meats, cheeses and vegetable trays.
• Adheres to company recipes and safety policies when preparing food.
• May operate and be responsible for cash register operations.
• Follows policies and procedures to ensure proper money handling.
• Responsible for general sanitation in the department.
• Assists in inventory control through time and temperature practices.
• May assist with baling cardboard or other related duties if properly trained.
• May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries.
• Ensures smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and superiors.
• Responsible for utilization of all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE).
• May also be called upon to assist in other departments.
