About The Position

The Deli/Produce Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the deli department within market stores, ensuring superior customer service, managing staff, and adhering to safety and sanitation guidelines. This role supports the deli and produce operations to drive sales, profitability, and enhance the overall customer experience.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of prior foodservice experience with 3 years in a leadership role in a grocery environment.
• Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to grocery deli operations.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, regulations, and compliance.
• Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
• Good organizational skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft suite and knowledge of BCOC support systems like Kronos and ICIMS.
• Experience in creating and analyzing financial reports.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to create collaborative and inclusive work environments.
• Serve Safe certified or able to acquire and maintain certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the deli department.
• Manage staff and ensure superior customer service.
• Order inventory and ensure compliance with safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Create and oversee training specific to Deli and Produce operations.
• Work with Market Leadership to align on menu offerings.
• Develop, implement, and update recipe guides.
• Provide sales and cost analysis as needed.
• Ensure effective ordering to support product availability while minimizing waste.
• Determine cost and labor budgets in collaboration with Market leadership.
• Support recruiting and hiring efforts for deli/produce leadership positions.
