About The Position

Deli Manager | Piggly Wiggly The Role: Lead the Culinary Heart of Our Store As the Deli Manager, you are more than a department head-you are a retail strategist and culinary leader. You will take full ownership of the Deli Department's success, from curated product selection and vendor relationships to driving profitability through smart marketing. We are looking for a commercial-minded leader who can inspire a team and stay ahead of the latest food and beverage trends to keep our guests coming back.

Requirements

  • Experience: Extensive retail or deli management experience is highly recommended.
  • Leadership Mastery: Exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage direct reports according to company policy.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with food trends and best practices to keep our offerings fresh and competitive.
  • Physical & Technical Skill: Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and safely operate hazardous equipment (mixers, slicers, ovens, etc.) with precision.

  • Certification: ServSafe Certification is a significant plus, but not a requirement. We offer the ability to get your certification!

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Growth: Develop and implement department objectives, focusing on maximizing consumer appeal, sales, and sustainable profitability.
  • Financial Oversight: Coordinate budgets and review performance data (financial, sales, and activity reports) to measure productivity and hit aggressive goals.
  • Team Leadership: Lead the recruitment, training, and supervision of your staff. You will set policies, conduct performance reviews, and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Merchandising & Vendor Relations: Establish strong relationships with vendors to enhance our product range and oversee pricing and promotions.
  • Operational Excellence: Use a guest-oriented mindset to resolve problems efficiently while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.
  • Tech Savvy: Utilize MS Office, restaurant management software, and POS systems to manage daily operations and reporting.
