About The Position

The Deli Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market is responsible for leading a team in one of the busiest departments of the store, focusing on providing excellent customer service and promoting healthy food choices. This role involves managing inventory, coordinating production and merchandising, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Deli Manager plays a key role in team development, performance management, and achieving departmental goals.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age with 2 years of supervisory experience and 2 years of deli department experience.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, and financial goals.
  • Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude towards team members and customers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organization and planning skills, able to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Food Safety certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with deli equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in food service.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and merchandise the deli department for maximum productivity and profit.
  • Order and manage inventory controls, ensuring product quality.
  • Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through ongoing planning and teamwork.
  • Lead a team to deliver high-quality products and exceptional customer service.
  • Engage and evaluate team members through coaching and performance reviews.
  • Recruit, hire, and make promotion decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
  • Address team member concerns and document corrective actions when necessary.
  • Create and adjust schedules to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
  • Communicate standards, expectations, and policy changes to team members.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
