Deli Junior Associate
About The Position
As a part of the Hansen’s IGA Market team, the Deli Junior Associate is responsible for delivering “best in class” customer service to all guests at the Deli counter and on the sales floor. The responsibilities of the Deli Junior Associate are to weigh, package, and price items from the deli cold. The Deli Junior Associate may also prepare the daily salad bar, various deli salads, dip selections based on pre-established recipes. The Deli Junior Associate will also assist in miscellaneous duties, such as, but not limited to, filling the deli case and salad bar when it gets low, maintaining the back coolers and cleaning.
Requirements
- Must be a minimum of 15 years of age due to required operation of Deli equipment
- Eagerness to interact with customers
- Strong sense of team – ability to anticipate the needs of the team
- Ability to work at a fast paced and efficient manner
- Ability to take initiative and make decisions independently regarding department needs and priorities, under general supervision
- Excellent time management, prioritization and organization skills
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, push/pull for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
Responsibilities
- Model the Hansen’s IGA Market culture and providing “best in class” customer service, which includes, greeting, engaging, delighting and thanking every guest for their business
- Weigh, package, price and label Deli items
- Assist customers with answering questions and making recommendations
- Prepare salad bar items, various deli salads, pizzas, sandwiches/wraps, and dips according to the daily production schedule
- Assist with maintaining the back cooler including rotating stock, dating and cleaning
- Assist Deli Department with stocking, rotating and facing the Deli wall
- Assist Deli Chef and Cook with minimal food preparation
- Maintain sanitation logs as needed
- Operate, maintain and clean deli equipment including work areas and coolers
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety/sanitation regulations and procedures
- Assist with all other Deli Department duties as needed
