Requirements

  • Working knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation methods.
  • Possession of a valid Food Handler's Card.
  • General knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented.

  • Prior experience in a deli or similar food service environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of deli items, including sandwiches, salads, and sides, following established recipes and standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to strict sanitation guidelines and food safety protocols.
  • Being able to cook all types of foods such as meats, seafood, and vegetables.
  • Able to use various methods of cooking: frying, grilling, roasting, and sauteing.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including grills, ovens, and slicers, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries and special requests with a positive attitude.
  • Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and portioning ingredients.
  • Collaborate effectively with other team members, demonstrating teamwork and a positive work ethic.
  • Monitor food inventory and report any shortages or discrepancies to the deli manager.
  • Adhere to all operation procedures, including opening and closing duties.
  • Practice effective time management to ensure timely food preparation and service.
  • Maintain a focus on food safety and sanitation throughout all stages of food handling.
