About The Position

The Deli Clerk at BJ's Wholesale Club is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while slicing, packaging, weighing, and selling various deli products, including meats and cheeses. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the deli area, assisting members with their needs, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. The Deli Clerk plays a vital role in creating a positive shopping experience for members and supporting the overall goals of the club.

Requirements

• Work experience in a deli department preferred.
• Prior experience operating manual/power slicers and scales preferred.
• Knowledge of deli products preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service to members.
• Slice, package, and weigh deli products, including cheeses and meats.
• Assist members in selecting the correct products and answering questions.
• Prepare and package special orders and party trays.
• Receive and inspect deli shipments, ensuring quality standards are met.
• Display, stock, rotate, and store deli products following food safety policies.
• Clean and sanitize deli equipment and food surfaces throughout the department.
• Maintain accurate pricing and ensure scale systems are in working order.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
