The Deli Clerk is responsible for slicing, packaging, weighing, and selling various deli products, including meats and cheeses. This role also involves maintaining the presentation and cleanliness of the deli, including display cases, and providing assistance to Members. Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

• Work experience in a deli department preferred.
• Prior experience operating manual/power slicers and scales preferred.
• Knowledge of deli products preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service to Members, answering questions and recommending deli items.
• Answer Member calls and take special orders.
• Slice, package, and weigh deli products, including cheeses and meats.
• Help Members select the correct products and offer samples to assist in purchasing decisions.
• Prepare and package special orders and party trays.
• Receive and inspect deli shipments.
• Display, stock, rotate, and store deli products following food safety, food freshness, and product handling policies and procedures.
• Ensure that all products are fresh and meet company quality standards, checking for out-of-date products daily.
• Ensure deli cooler shelves and deli display cases have a wide variety of product and stock/rotate items as necessary.
• Operate and handle deli equipment in accordance with safety policies and procedures.
• Clean and sanitize deli equipment and food surfaces throughout the department, including rotisserie ovens, cooking utensils, refrigerated cases, and the deli cooler.
• Ensure scale systems are in working order and items are weighed and priced accurately.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
• Ensure regular, predictable, full attendance.

• Work as a team to deliver GOLD club standards daily, ensuring all items are stocked, promotional plans executed, and signage is accurate.
• Maintain a clean and organized club, inside and out.
• Understand how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for the department and see the connection between execution and business impact.
