The Deli Clerk role involves slicing, packaging, weighing, and selling various deli products, including meats and cheeses, and maintaining the presentation and cleanliness of the deli department and display cases. Deli Clerks provide assistance to Members. Daily commitment to GOLD Member Standards (Greet, Anticipate, Appreciate - GAA, Fast, Friendly) and GOLD Club Standards (Full, Fresh, Clean, Grand opening look daily, all items stocked, promotional plans executed, visible accurate signage, clean and organized) is required. Team members should also understand how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for their department and see the connection between consistent execution and business impact.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job.

Nice To Haves

Work experience in a deli department preferred.
Prior experience operating manual/power slicers and scales preferred.
Knowledge of deli products preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide a high level of customer service to Members.
Answer questions and recommend deli items.
Answer Member calls and take special orders.
Slice, package, and weigh deli products, including cheeses and meats.
Help Members select the correct products.
Sample product to assist in purchasing decisions.
Prepare and package special orders and party trays.
Receive and inspect deli shipments.
Display, stock, rotate, and store deli products following food safety, food freshness, and product handling policies and procedures.
Ensure that all products are fresh and meet company quality standards.
Check for out-of-date products daily and follow appropriate product salvage policies and procedures.
Ensure deli cooler shelves and deli display cases have a wide variety of product.
Stock and rotate deli items when necessary.
Operate and handle deli equipment in accordance with safety policies and procedures.
Clean and sanitize deli equipment and food surfaces throughout the department, including rotisserie ovens, cooking utensils, refrigerated cases, and the deli cooler.
Ensure scale systems are in working order.
Make sure items are weighed and priced accurately.
Maintain all club policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
