About The Position

Deli Clerks are responsible for preparing, slicing, wrapping, weighing, pricing, and merchandising Deli and Bakery products with the highest level of professionalism and friendliness, while maintaining the utmost regard for health and safety regulations. Chompie's was founded in 1979 by the Borenstein Family, bringing classic family recipes from Queens, New York to Phoenix, Arizona. In 2019, JRI Hospitality welcomed Chompie’s to its family. Requirements

  • 16+ years of age
  • Reliable transportation
  • Available to work flexible shifts to include mornings, days, evenings, and weekends
  • Maintain a professional appearance and a positive attitude
  • Acquiring and maintaining a current Maricopa County Food Service Worker Certification
  • Working knowledge of the restaurant menu, including prices and descriptions of Deli and Bakery items
  • Able to understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and be able to use it to accurately record clock in, clock out, and tip reporting
  • Able to manage and organize cash handling procedures according to Company policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the highest quality of guest service and adhere to high standards of Health and Safety guidelines, including acquiring and maintaining a current Maricopa County Food Service Worker Certification.
  • Ensure all display cases are full of fresh, quality products presented in an eye-appealing manner and that the Deli and Bakery are always clean and safe.
  • Regularly answer phones before the third ring responding to customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Have a working knowledge of the restaurant menu, including prices and descriptions of Deli and Bakery items to be able to take orders in person and on the phone.
  • Efficiently and correctly prepare recipes and orders to meet correctly weighing and pricing products on a regular basis.
  • Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and be able to use it to accurately record clock in, clock out, and tip reporting.
  • Maintain good hygiene and frequent washing of hands to maintain a safe environment for guests and coworkers.
  • Be prepared for each shift on time according to scheduled shifts and maintain a regular and predictive attendance record and arrive in proper uniform maintaining a neat and kept appearance conveying a professional image for our guests.
  • Manage and organize cash handling procedures according to Company policies and procedures and operate all equipment necessary to perform the job duties (e.g., mixer, slicer, toasters, etc.).
